Wayne Irelan
Wayne Irelan was first elected to the South Fort Collins Sanitation District Board of Directors in 2009, and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Board. Wayne has been an active member of the Fort Collins community for many years, having first moved here in 1966 to start a consulting engineering firm providing engineering services in the water and wastewater fields. Experience in these areas is valuable in planning, building and maintaining the facilities needed to provide high quality and economical wastewater collection and treatment systems for the District.
Over the years Wayne has been active in community and professional organizations, having served on Chamber of Commerce committees, Colorado Consulting Engineers Council Board of Directors, Key Bank of Colorado Board of Directors to name a few. He joined the South Fort Collins Sanitation District Board to help continue what has been a well managed District providing a valuable service to the area.
Wayne was raised on a farm in southern Iowa, attended Iowa State University, was a Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado and Nebraska, and enjoyed running his own business in Fort Collins for approximately 30 years. Now retired, he spends his time doing such activities as building furniture, rebuilding a grand piano, restoring a tractor, or rebuilding a Model A.
